Due to time constraints, I didn’t have much detail before-hand. One of the more enjoyable shoots that I’ve done, the Idole des Aines (Senior Star) event on June 4th (where I was shooting on commission for Chartwell Quebec) was entertaining from start to finish. Each of the contestants were talented and unique, some performing self penned, meaningful pieces, others performing classics. I’m really looking forward to the finals at the Corona Theatre on September 29th:

Thursday, May 27th, 2010I second-shot an engagement shoot with Ned at Beautifoto. It was a lot of fun and particularly challenging to try to emulate another photographer. Ned has his signature style well defined and it was fun to step into his shoes for the evening. Charlie and Michelle were a great couple and really fun to shoot.
The available light portraits we did were in my usual comfort zone.
Ned wanted to make sure that I could shoot in his style and in order to give me the chance we switched spots a lot, holding lights while the other shot.

At 11:00pm Ned suggested we do an impromptu strobist shoot on Crescent street. I normally lean toward the less posed side of things, and never carry a 580 EX II on a stick in public (I’m more of a candid street shooter) but Ned’s charm can be very convincing. In no time all kinds of people were lining up to pose
